Munising
George A. Koval, age 92, of 16 Mile Lake Road and formerly of Florida and East Point, Michigan, died on Saturday evening, October 13, 2007. He was born on July 9, 1915 in Detroit to Andrew and Proxida (Kwatkowska) Koval. As a young man, George served in the CCC's in Moran before going to work at Chrysler. He retired from their accounting department and moved to Florida where he loved to golf. George loved dancing with his wife Olga and was a wonderful and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and of St. Basil Catholic Church.
George is survived by his daughters - Georgine (Duane) Mousseau of Munising and Catherine Roberts of St. Clair Shores; grandchildren - Duane A., Dawn Marie, Eric, Dale, Tim, and Debbie; great-grandchildren - Duane Christopher, Ashley, Sarah, Michael, Luke, Jack, Bradley, Brentley, and Kimberley; brother - Raymond (Ann) Koval of Warren; numerous nieces and nephews; and special family friend and longtime caregiver during George's dementia - Vickie Nelson. He was widowed twice by his wives Olga Sagety and Jean Rogers and also preceded in death by siblings Helen, Ann, and Steven.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
