Gerald "Jerry" Moore

Munising

 Gerald “Jerry” Moore, age 74, of Munising, died unexpectedly Friday, November 22, 2024 at OSF St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba, Michigan. He was born on May 7, 1950 in Flint, Michigan to the late Kenneth and Lyla (Robinson) Moore. Jerry graduated from Clio High School in 1968. He married Judith Verran and together they raised their two daughters. Jerry worked for many years for General Motors in both the Saginaw and Flint Plants. He married Katherine Day-Reed on April 11, 2014 and together they enjoyed taking rides that turned into “adventures”, reading, and great conversations. Jerry enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was a talented wood worker. After retirement, Jerry moved to the U.P. where he fulfilled his long-time goal to become a Yooper. He had recently found comfort in becoming a Jehovah's Witnesses. Jerry was a giving person with a huge heart who was a social butterfly.

 He is survived by his wife – Kathy Moore of Mt. Morris, MI; daughters – Jeri Marie Moore, of Flint and Andrea (Richard) Jones, Jr. of Andrews, TX, honorary daughters – Trina Aviles and Tina Bindschatel; grandchildren – Tyler Burkett, Sharia (John) Smith, Jasmine Haywood, and Joshua (Adrianne) Haywood, great-grandchildren – Syiera Haywood, Koryan Boyd, La’Monta Holder, Sa’Niya and Ka’Miya White, and Joslyn and Scarlette Haywood; siblings – Dale (Phyllis) Moore of Mt. Morris, Dean Moore of Prescot, AZ, Jeff Moore of Escanaba, and Sue (Nick) Trombly-Matzen of Munising; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents – Ken and Lyla; brother – Don (Kathy) Moore, sister – Jan Sigsby; sister-in-law – Connie Moore; and nephew Dennis Moore.

 Interment will be at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan at a later date.
