Wetmore
Gerald "Jerry" Rogers, age 70, died unexpectedly at his home on FFH-13, Tuesday, September 4, 2012. He was born on June 10, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Mitchell "Mike" and Theodora "Terry" (Slosek) Rogers. Jerry served in the U.S. Army from 1959 until 1962. He married Judith L. Elmore on June 29, 1963 at the St. Michael's Catholic Church in Livonia. Jerry and Judy moved to the U.P. in 1988, and he began running the Roger's Enterprise propane distribution for fifteen years. He loved goose hunting, fishing, and although he never shot one he enjoyed deer hunting.
Jerry is survived by his wife of over forty-nine years - Judy of Wetmore; sons Michael and Robert (Sally) Rogers both of Livonia, MI; three grandchildren - Katie, Gary, and Curtis; and great-granddaughter - Evelyn. He is preceded in death by his parents Mike and Terry, and brother Robert M. "Bob" Rogers.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
