Geraldine "Jeri" Vining, age 59, of Munising died Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at Marquette General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 10, 1954 in Munising, Michigan to Leslie and Donna (Bower) Vining. Jeri was a graduate of William G. Mather High School. She was a very artistic, creative and talented woman. Jeri enjoyed sewing and make beautiful weavings. She also loved nature: feeding and watching the birds, picking rocks and agates, fishing with her sister, and planting flowers.
Jeri is survived by her children - Alycia (fiancé Miguel Wodkowski) Morelli of Livonia, MI, and Nicholas Morelli of Clinton Twp., MI; mother - Donna MacKenzie of Munising; siblings who called her "Sissy" - Randy (Debbie) Vining of Chatham, Steven Vining of Munising, Diana (Gary) Ackley of VanMeer, Lisa (Mark) Ozoga of Manistique, Jeanne (Tracey) Segerstrom of Christmas, and Bryan (Ruth) MacKenzie of Chicago, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Leslie Vining, stepfather George "Bill" MacKenenzie, and grandmother Eleanor "Ella" Vining.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
