Munising
Glenn B. Hoy, age 81, of Munising, died Tuesday morning, January 27, 2009 at the Tendercare Health Center in Munising. He was born on April 10, 1927 to the late John and Lillia May (Stine) Hoy in his family home in Trenary. On February 7, 1948 Glenn married Betty Jean Franklin and together they raised their two children. He worked for the Alger County Road Commission for twenty-seven years before retirement. Glenn loved driving large equipment especialy the semi he drove in his later years. He was a member of the Munising Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Glenn is survived by his son - Tom (Cindy) Hoy of Shingleton; daughter - Linda Hoy of Munising; grandchildren - Lisa Goudey of Gwinn, Charity Hoy of Munising, Thomas Hoy Jr. of Chesterfield, VA, and Amanda Hoy of Silverdale, WA; great-grandchildren - Thomas (Nikole) Tanner, Joshua (Amber) Tanner, Kayla Tanner, Donald Tanner Jr., Alexis Goudey all of Gwinn, Tony Hoy, Nathan Bruce, and Trent Bruce of Florida; great-great-grandsons - Ryan and Braden; brother - Donald (Rosa) Hoy of Trenary; and his beloved dog - Fluffy. He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-nine years on March 18, 2007 Betty Jean Hoy; brothers - Harry and Leonard; and sister Fern.
Glenn's memorial service will be conducted by Mr. Gary John on Saturday, January 31, 2009 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses on Connors Road in Munising at 2:00 p.m.
