Glenna Marie (Peterson) Holmes

Glenna Marie (Peterson) Holmes, age 76, of Chatham, died on Wednesday evening, February 28, 2018 following a lengthy illness.  She was born on Febuary 12, 1942 in Manistique, Michigan.  Glenna was raised in Munising, daughter of the late Emil and Alma (Laage) Peterson.  She graduated from Wm. G. Mather High School.  Glenna married Russell Sherwood and together had four sons.  She and Russ parted ways Glenna worked as a seamstress for many companies around Michigan.  She married Bill Holmes and during retirement moved to New Mexico.  Glenna and Bill were married over twenty years when he preceded her in death in 2010.  Glenna returned back to the U.P. in 2016.  She enjoyed going to the Senior Citizens Center, gardening, fishing, knitting, crocheting, and being outdoors.

Glenna is survived by her sons – Russ Sherwood of Chatham, Joe Sherwood of Oklahoma, Mike (Kim) Sherwood of Cadillac, and Dean (Tracy) Sherwood of Munising; grandchildren – Elizabeth, Johanna, Barbara, J.J., Garrett, Katy, Mitchell, Brian, Brittany, Bradley, J.R., and Brandon; and numerous great grandchildren.
