Harold Dean North, age 86, of VanMeer died unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at his home in VanMeer. He was born on March 20, 1923 in Stanton, MI to the late Grover and Florence (Klingensmith) North. Dean married Vivian Roos on June 8, 1945. He worked in the woods as a sawyer for most of his life until he retired at the age of 71 working for Joe Graves. Dean enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of over sixty-four years - Vivian North of VanMeer; four children - Mary D. Allison of Sterling, VA, Patricia (Allen) Whitcomb of Ashland, WI, Deana North of Gwinn, and Raymond North of Van Meer; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and brother William North. Dean is preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, and one sister.
