Heather Susan (Hallifax) Bush

January 13, 1965 - September 7, 2022

Heather Susan Bush, age 57 of Chesapeake, VA. passed away peacefully on

September 7, 2022. Heather was born January 13, 1965 to Richard and Mary Jayne

Hallifax (Shampine) in Marquette, Mi. She was the youngest of four childern and kept

mom and dad on their toes. Heather focused on business and secretarial studies in

high school and enjoyed extracurricular activies as well including cheerleading, basketball, track, cross-country and band.

Following high school, Heather attended Northern Michigan University to pursue a

degree in medical transcription and worked at a cardiologist office in Marquette before

venturing off to Norfolk, Virginia where her sister Laurel and brother-in-law Dan

Boucher lived. It was there she started a thirty-year career working as a program

analyst for the Naval Facilities Engineering Command and Navy Crane Center retiring in

2021. During that time Heather received several promotions and formed life-long

friendships with many of her peers.

Heather was known for her sense of humor and ability to laugh about almost any

situation.  She enjoyed preparing and sharing baked goods with friends and coworkers.

She loved sunflowers and her vegetable garden,  and was a big fan of the

University of Michigan and Green Bay Packer football. Her hometown of Munising held

a special place in her heart. Most of all was her love for her children and family. Heather

was dearly loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed.

Heather is survived by her beloved sons Steven R. Bush and Kyle P. Bush, mother

Mary Jayne Hallifax, brother Dean Hallifax, sisters Janeen Chebli and Laurel Boucher,

and nephew Zach Boucher, and long-time partner Jerry Horrall. Heather was preceded

in death by her father Richard D. Hallifax and brothers-in-law Tony Chebli and Dan Boucher.

A private family celebration of life for Heather will be held at a later date.
