Howard Charles West, age 37, of N5176 Benson Road, Eben, died unexpectedly on Wednesday evening, November 28, 2007. He was born on September 25, 1970 in Marquette, Michigan to Robert and Goldie Elaine (Taylor) West. Howard graduated from Superior Central High School in 1989. He moved to Florida and worked various jobs including printing and construction before going to work for Cardinal Pharmaceuticals for twelve years as a technician. Howard returned to the Eben area and was working for Graham Construction at the time of his death. He enjoyed being outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting, four-wheeling, snowmobiling, and jet skiing.
Howard is survived by his parents - Robert and Caren West of Rumely; his girlfriend - Jess Henderson and her children Krysta and Cole all of Eben; step-daughter - Mandy McNiel of St. Petersburg, FL; brother - Brian Keith (Karen) West of Pinellas Park, FL; sisters - Terri Lynn (Terry) Michael of Lake Delton, WI, Karen Ann (John Toma) West of Jacksonville, FL, and Deanna Helen (Butch) Driese of Hill Point, WI; step-siblings - Allen (Karen Steinhoff) Mills of Gladstone, Wayne (Mary) Mills of Marinette, WI, Crystal (Scott) Savola of Menominee, MI, and Tim (Joanna) Mills of Palmer, Alaska; Jess' sister - Becky Edwards of Eben; Jess' dad - Gary Beilke of Chatham; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Howard was preceded in death by his mother Elaine and Jess' mother Dorothy Beilke.
Howard's visitation and memorial service will be held at the Bowerman Funeral Home on Monday, December 3, 2007. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m Mark Murphy will conduct Howard's memorial service in the funeral home's chapel at 2:00 p.m.
