Shingleton
Ida Graves, age 75, of Shingleton, died Saturday morning, July 18, 2009 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 3, 1933 in Munising to George and Eunice "Toots" (Travis) Stimac. Ida graduated from William G. Mather High School in 1951. She married Leslie "Joe" Graves on September 18, 1954. Ida worked as Joe's bookkeeper and "President" of Les Graves Logging for over forty years. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, playing Yahtzee, and knitting. Ida loved being outdoors with her family, spending time picnicking, swimming, picking berries, fishing and hunting with Joe. Anytime Joe needed a hand in the woods tracking a deer, Ida was the first to get on the trail. The thing Ida enjoyed the most, was spoiling her grandchildren, staying involved in their events, feeding them her home cooking, and making sure each had their favorite dessert for their birthday.
She is survived by her husband of nearly fifty-five years - Joe Graves of Shingleton, five children - Bruce (Sally) Graves of Shingleton, Cindy (Ed) Hines of Munising, Kim (Bruce) Robinson, Mark (Caryn) Graves, and Joni (Steve) Mosier all of Shingleton; mother - Toots Stimac of Munising; brother - Ronald (Clara "Punky") Stimac; sister - Judy (Jim) Hill; sister-in-law - Violet "Babe" Stimac; sixteen grandchildren - Jason (Liana), Shawn, and Ryan Graves, Heather (Jim) Aboud, Edward Hines, Leslie (Scott) Heyrman, David, Derek, and Brad Robinson, Megan, Emily, and Seth Graves, Brett, Jamie, Jared, and Joey Mosier; five great-grandchildren - Halle and Hayden Graves, James and Sofia Aboud, and Audree Hines; and numerous nieces and nephews.
