Imogene "Jeanne" E. Fraser, 76, of Riverdale, Michigan passed away Saturday, February 20, 2010 at home in Grand Marais, Michigan with her loving daughters at her side. Jeanne was born on September 8, 1933 in Bemidji, Minnesota to Fredrick Charles and Stella Lahman. She dedicated her life to her family and the care of others as a Registered Nurse and guardian. Her hobbies included gardening, American history, going to the casino and bowling with her friends.
Surviving her are two daughters, Gayle A. Clausen of Murfreesboro, Arkansas and Kay L. Wampler of Grand Marais, Michigan, and "son-in-law", Marc Oglevie of Grand Marais, Michigan; her two special nieces, Kristi (Harry) Scheske of Alpena and Carol Hoskins of Howell, Michigan; four brothers and sisters, Mrs. Delores VanDamme of Marlette, Michigan, Mrs. Margaret Benning of Plainfield, Iowa, Mr. Martin (JoAnne) Lahman of Bella Vista, Arkansas and Mr. Fred (Marie) Lahman of Hines, Minnesota; many nieces and nephews; and two granddaughters, Stacey Jo Barnes of Appleton, Wisconsin and Elizabeth (Geoff) Vernon of Grosse Point, Michigan and three great-grand children, Galen, Ethan and Allison Vernon.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Arnold "Arnie" Lahman, and her beloved daughter and son, Cindy Jo Anne and Don Alan Barnes.
No services will be held in accordance with her wishes. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Grand Marais, Michigan in the spring followed by a picnic at the Woodland Park Pavilion in Grand Marais, Michigan.
The family requests donations in lieu of flowers to Mid-Michigan Home Care and Hospice in Midland, Michigan or North Woods Home Care and Hospice of Manistique, Escanaba, Munising and Newberry, Michigan in her memory.
