Munising / Wyandotte
Irene Mary Stack, age 98, of Munising and formerly of Wyandotte, Michigan, died at the Tendercare Health Center in Munising on Tuesday morning, October 30, 2007. She was born on July 31, 1909 to John and May (Sangston) Hall. Irene married Frank Stack in 1938 and he preceded her in death in 1952. She had retired from Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn and at the age of 87, Irene graduated from Roosevelt High School. She was a member of St. Alfred's Church in Taylor where she was a charter member and president of The Christian Mothers. Irene was active with the guilds and the parish. After the death of Frank, Irene moved and became a member of St. Cyprians in Riverview. Age was only a number to Irene, she enjoyed bowling and traveled and camped throughout Europe in her 80's.
She is survived by her children - Mary Lou Brandly of Munising, Edward (Yola) Dalpe' of Redford, Shirley LeBlanc of Onsted, Theresa (Larry) Day of Lincoln Park, and Barbara (Robert) Bolla of Port Orchard, WA and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Irene was preceded in death by her parents, husband Frank, grandson Robert Brandly, and son-in-law Clyde Brandly.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Alfred's Catholic Church in Taylor on November 8, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. with Father James Kean officiating. Irene will be escorted by the Christian Mothers and interment will be at the Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery in Flat Rock. Irene's obituary can be viewed and signed at
