Trenary

Jacqueline “Jackie” Richmond, age 89, of Trenary, died peacefully early Friday morning, February 21, 2020, at Norlite Nursing Center in Marquette following a brief illness.  She was born on February, 26, 1930 in Escanaba, Michigan to the late Henry and Cordelia “Delia” (Steinmetz) Breault.  Jackie graduated from St. Joe High School in Escanaba in 1948.  She worked for a short time at local grocery and drug store.  Jackie married George “Sonny” Richmond and moved to Trenary.  She was an amazing mother and homemaker and raised seven children.  Jackie was a member of St. Rita Church in Trenary, where she served on the church council for several years, sang in the choir, and volunteered for many funeral lunch committees.  She also was always willing to help and volunteered for many Trenary United Methodist Church functions.  Jackie was a member of the Home Extension Group, T.O.P.S Group, and was an election inspector of Mathias Township.  Jackie’s family was the most important thing to her.  She looked forward to the holidays, especially the Fourth of July because everyone would be home.  Her family has treasured memories at her home that often revolved around meals Jackie prepared and card games.  After being nominated by her granddaughter, Jackie was named “Grandparent of the Year” at the Alger County Fair.  She was also named one of the Women of the Year from the Alger Historical Society.  Jackie also was an avid supporter Trenary and Superior Central athletic teams.

She is survived by her children – Jay (Bonnie) Richmond of Trenary, Cindy (Mike) Frey of Sauk City, WI, Keith (Laura) Richmond of Trenary, Greg Richmond of Manistique, Auvergne “Abe” (Sally) Richmond of Rock, Wayne (Sheila) Richmond of Eben, and Brett (Amy) Richmond of Trenary; twenty grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren with one on the way; sister-in-law Dawn Breault; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Jackie was preceded in death by her parents Delia and Henry and siblings George (Virginia), Gerald, and Auvergne Breault, and Audrey (Keith) Brunell, and Helen (Ray) Jones.

Visitation will be at St. Rita Catholic Church in Trenary, on Friday, February 28, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.  Father Joseph Vandannoor will celebrate Jackie’s Funeral Mass at 1:00 p.m.  Interment will be in the spring at Mathias Township Cemetery.
