Jacqueline "Jackie" Sue Snell (nee Syers) age 40, of Munising, died unexpectedly at her home on Saturday, March 31, 2018 following a history of health conditions.  She was born on July 9, 1977 in Newport, Washington.  When she was one her family moved to Munising, where she grew up and attended school.  While in school, Jackie was an avid bowler and speedster running in track.  She enjoyed camping, fishing and swimming.  Not even being in a bridesmaid’s dress in her daughter’s wedding, could keep her from jumping off rocks at Paradise to swim in Lake Superior.  Jackie loved her family and her grandbabies and would do anything for them, but they knew not to ask for much until she had her first cup of coffee in the morning.  She was an avid clothes collector, never passing up a good sweater, and she collected butterflies that decorated her home.  Jackie had a passion for animals and making sure they were protected and had a good home.  She once took in an injured fox and a snapping turtle.  Jackie found peace in forgiveness and love for others.

She is survived by her three children – Tyler Snell and Kurt (Alexis Morse) Snell both of Mancelona, MI and Dakota Sue (Dustin) Lee, of Munising; mother - Nancy Syers; grandchildren – Eiza, Elijah, Skylar, Jayden, Ezmae, with one on the way; siblings – Donald Syers, Darren Syers, and Dawn Syers; best friend – April Sanders; special friend – Grandma Lori; soulmate – Mike Tanner, ex-husband – Jason Snell, nieces – Micaila, and Laura, along with many loved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Jackie was preceded in death by her cousin Maria Giffin and brother-in-law Dale Prater.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at the Bowerman Funeral Home in Munising from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m.  Rev. Sandra Kolder will conduct Jackie’s funeral at 6:00 p.m.  Interment will be at the Maple Grove Cemetery in the spring.
