Jan Marie Barker, age 51, of Munising died, Sunday, January 24, 2010 at the Superior Health Haven in Munising. She was born on July 21, 1958 in Munising to George and Donna (Tongusi) Reimer. Jan graduated from Wm. G. Mather High School in 1977. She married John "Jake" Barker on October 9, 1981. Jan enjoyed her jobs cleaning at the Paper Mill, the Superior Health Haven, the Days Inn, and the Super 8. She was a member of the Wesleyan Church and enjoyed knitting, puzzles, and her cats. Jan and John enjoyed camping, picnicking, and taking long trips on the back roads of the areas. They enjoyed getting lost and then finding their way out.
Jan is survived by her husband - John of Wetmore; parents - George and Donna Reimer of Trenary; sister - Jennifer (Chuck) Vender of Lakota, ND; brother - Michael Reimer of Trenary; niece and nephews - Bobby Sue, Chad, and Clay; great nieces - Chelsea, Dakota, and Kaylie; sister-in-law - Cheryl (Max) Tracey of Clear Lake, MI; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her sister Vicky Martell.
Private family services will be held.
