Jeffery G. Dusseault , age 45 of Marquette and formerly of Munising died late Tuesday evening, December 31, 2013 the result of a snowmobile accident near Skandia. Jeff was born on November 29, 1968 in Sault Ste. Marie to Jerry and Pennie (Shunk) Dusseault.
The following year the family moved to Munising when they opened Shunk Furniture. Jeff grew up in the Munising area, attended Munising Public Schools and graduated in 1987. During his high school years, he participated in Mustangs sports.
During his high school and college years, Jeff worked at Shunk Furniture in Munising and Marquette. He attended Northern Michigan University, graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Computer Information Systems.
On Aug. 2, 1997, Jeff married Trista M. Leach in Munising and soon after they moved to Marquette. It was in Marquette that they made their home and together lovingly raised their two children, Josh and Taylor. Jeff was employed by Argonics as a sales representative for the Western U.S and Canada. This job required him to travel extensively. Later he was employed by Mineral Resource Technologies, Inc. (a Cemex company) as operations manager of the fly ash department at the Presque Isle Power Plant. Later the contract was awarded to the LaFarge Company. Jeff maintained the same position with the new company. Throughout his career, Jeff has always had entrepreneurial side line jobs including a moving company and managing rental properties with Trista.
Jeff and Trista have been active members of their community. Jeff served as secretary of the Skandia Lions Club, volunteering his time organizing the 4th of July parade in Skandia and volunteering his time at the U.P. Mud Drag Association.
Jeff was a wonderful and caring husband and father who gave the best hugs. He enjoyed family gatherings at AuTrain and camp in Steuben. He enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting, four-wheeling, and was looking forward to a new passion for ice fishing.
He lived his life to the fullest extent but his greatest moments were the quiet quality hours he spent with his wife and children. He really enjoyed DeeDee, the family Pomeranian. Jeff will be achingly missed by those who loved him.
He is survived by; his wife of over sixteen years Trista Dusseault of Marquette, their fourteen year old son Josh Dussseault, their eleven year old daughter Taylor Dusseault, his mother Pennie Shunk Dusseault of Munising, his father Jerry Dusseault of Autrain, his brothers Jamie Dusseault of Manistique and Jason (Laura) Dusseault of Munising, grandfather Spencer S. Shunk of Sault Ste. Marie, parents-in law Maureen and Jerry Leach of Manistique, brother-in-law Jason Leach of Negaunee, sister-in-law Melanie (David) Humphrey of Skandia, nieces and nephews: Joey, Cameron, Caylee, Jack, Ashely, Manda and Raina and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Jeff was preceded in death by his grandparents Katherine and Joseph Dusseault and Verna Shunk Rodgers.
Services will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2013 in Munising. Visitation will be held at the Bowerman Funeral Home (302 E. Superior Street) from 11:00 a.m. until 2:30p.m. Jeff's funeral service will be officiated by Pastor Sandi Kolder at the United Methodist Church (312 Lynn Street, Munising) at 3:00 p.m.
