Jessica Lynn Bruce, age 31, of Shingleton, died unexpectedly Saturday, May 30, 2015. She was born on June 6, 1983 in Munising to Shirley (Hill) and Emil Bruce, Jr. Jessica was an outdoorsy kind of girl who loved to have fun. She loved swimming, fishing, camping, sitting by a bonfire, and going baja-ing on a four-wheeler through the mud. Jessica was a loving mother who would do anything for her kids. She would dance and listen to music, do arts and crafts, and show them the fun that could be had outside.
Jessica is survived by her five children - Michael Bruce-Mozader of Marquette, Jamie Jr., Anthony, Kristy, and Joy Brown all of Chatham; father - Emil "Bootsy" (Cindy) Bruce of Munising; mother - Shirley Hill-Doane of Shingleton; step-father - Thomas Glun; brother - Rodney "Randy" Bruce; sisters - Tonya Hill and Tabitha Doane; niece - Julianna; grandparents - Emil and Shirley Bruce of Munising and Delphine Chaney of Detroit; children's father - Jamie Brown; mother-in-law - Joy Wellman of Chatham; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandfather - William Hill and special cousin - Kristy Savola.
Visitation will be at the Bowerman Funeral Home on Thursday, June 4, 2015 from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. Pastor Jason LaFlamme will conduct a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Maple Grove Cemetery.
