Jessica Ann (Cox) Feliciano, 45, passed away on the morning of Friday November 19th, 2021 after a brief illness. She was born in Munising, Michigan on February 13, 1976 to her parents Penelope (Flynn) Sims and Daryl Cox.
She began her childhood growing up in Indiana. In 1987, at the age of 11, she moved to Sandwich, Illinois. She was gifted in that she always excelled academically, made friends easily and found her athletic niche out-playing the boys in basketball and volleyball. She graduated from Munising High School in Michigan in 1994. She was awarded scholarships and played college basketball for Lakeland College in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. A year later she transferred and finished out her education at Northern Michigan University where she graduated with a BS degree in Biology.
She moved down to Georgia in 2000 to raise her family. Ryan Feliciano was born in 2000 and Paul Moore was born in 2008. Being a mother was the most important thing to her and she would do anything for her boys. She was gleaming with pride for the young men she had raised. In 2009 Jessica began caring for her ailing mother and in so discovered her passion and aptitude for nursing. She returned to school and earned a BS in nursing from Clayton State University.
In 2014 she began her nursing career at Clearview Hospital. She also worked at Northeast Hospital in Braselton, ultimately finding her home at Piedmont Walton Hospital in the Emergency Room. She was beloved by both her co-workers and her patients and touched more lives than she will ever know.
Her passion for life, camping, traveling, and nature are how she is known best. Only coming second to her boys and her love of nursing and saving lives. From her love of dogs to her near obsession with owls, Jessica loved and nurtured all living things.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Penelope Ann Sims (Flynn), her brother, Brandon Spaulding, and her niece Kierstyn Jordan Brunell. She is survived by her sons Ryan Feliciano and Paul Moore of Monroe, her father Daryl Cox (Laurie “Sis”) of Munising, Michigan, her siblings Monica Brunell (Stephen Ryals) of Loganville, GA, Eric Cox (Shannon) of Cumming, GA, Benjamin Sims of Monroe, GA, Shane Sims of Plainfield, IL, Tawnya Harrison of Kokomo, IN, and numerous beloved Nieces and Nephews.
Visitation will be on Sunday, July 17, 2022 at the Bowerman Funeral Home in Munising from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m.
