John Adams

John B. "Baby John" "Jack" Adams, age 80, of Manistique, died Sunday evening, January 6, 2013, at his home under the loving care of his family and North Woods Home Hospice. He was born on April 20, 1932 in Sebewaing, Michigan to the late John B. and Gertrude (Ward) Adams. John graduated from Sebewaing High School in 1950 and then entered the United States Navy. He was honorably discharged in January of 1954. He worked for Western Electric then Michigan Bell for thirty-four years before retiring. John married Karolyn "Honey" Wood on January 23, 1986. In May of 1987, they moved to the U.P. where John had loved to vacation and hunt. Together they purchased the Jack Pine Lodge. He enjoyed hunting, golfing, bowling, spending time with family, and gabbing and telling stories at the Jack Pine.
He is survived by his wife of nearly twenty-seven years - Karolyn "Honey" Adams; former wife - Alice Adams; children - Robert (Becky) Adams, Richard (Maryanne) Adams, Ron (Betty) Adams, Peter (Dayna) Miller, Josie Abadie, Sheryl (Mike) Dixon, Wes (Connie) Howell, and Angel Gilbert; brothers - Jerry (Cathy), Ken (Bernadette), and Don (Sally) Adams; grandchildren - Kristy (Joe) Garofalo, Jason (Heather) Adams, Jeff Adams, Justin Adams, Lauren (Matt) Brown, Jenny Adams, John-Thomas Adams, Bradley Hannah, Michael Dixon, Christopher Dixon, Brandy Rawls, Cody Gilbert, Hayle Gilbert, Maxwell Miller, Amanda Miller, Levi Miller, Ben Miller, JJ Howell, and Daniel Howell; great-grandchildren - Cameron Adams, Dominique Adams, Donovin Adams, Haleigh Adams, Justin Adams, Jr., Sharon Huizenga, Audrey Brown, and Dominic Garofalo. He was preceded in death by his sister Deloris Pomeranke and great-granddaughter Paisley Adams.

A memorial gathering will be held at the Jack Pine Lodge on Sunday, January 20, 2013 beginning at 4:00 p.m.
