John Nathan Livermore, age 84, of Percy Road, Shingleton, MI. Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather died peacefully in his home on January 22, 2013. He was born in Munising, MI on March 27, 1928. He married the love of his life Antoinette "Toots" Niedzwiecki on September 27, 1952. He proudly served in World War II and the Korean War where he received the purple heart of honor. He was a kind hearted, hardworking man who had a pure enjoyment of life. He always had a smile that radiated the hearts of many. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and the challenge of a crossword puzzle.
John is survived by his son Frank Livermore, his granddaughter Sheila Merkes, great-grandson Bryce Merkes, sisters Edith Rowe, Glady Hannah and Mary Colton and brother George Livermore. He was preceeded in death by his parents, his wife Antoinette "Toots" Livermore, his brothers David Livermore, Don Livermore, Jimmy Livermore and sister Mabel North.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at the Bowerman Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Pastor George Dwelley will conduct John's funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Munising in the spring, where the American Legion and Vietnam Veterans Honor Guards will conduct military honors.
