Christmas
Jonathon Pierre Passinault, age 54, of Christmas, Michigan, passed away surrounded by his family on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at Mayo Clinic's Rochester Methodist Hospital following his courageous battle with Leukemia. Jon was born on October 22, 1956 in Marquette to the late Sylvia (Wing) Passinault and Louis Passinault. He graduated from Mather High School in 1974, received his Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Michigan Technological University in February 1980 and started work 10 days later as a Project Design Engineer at Kimberly-Clark and later Neenah Paper. He worked as a Project Engineer IV then became the Engineer in charge of Powerhouse/Utilities in 2006 before he was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2007 and left the Munising Mill in June 2008.

On September 19, 1981, Jon married his "bride" Susan Dreffs and built their home by hand. Together they had two children - his "chum" Wesley James and his "little sweetheart" Kelly Lynn. Jon loved being a dad and grandpa and took pleasure in actively being a part of their lives. He was a Boy Scout Leader, a coach for Little League, Senior League and Legion Baseball, Odyssey of the Mind coach, and spent countless hours playing chauffeur to dance classes, and attending endless amounts of theatre productions and sporting events. He was also involved in the Vanguards and loved singing and playing his guitar. His enjoyment was found in his collection of antiques, rebuilding antique cars, and working on cars and other various projects in his garage. He also found happiness in deer and bear hunting, taxidermy, watching Nascar and the Green Bay Packers, and traveling to see his children as his greatest joy of all was spending time with his family.

He will always be remembered by his family and friends for his sense of humor and love of laughter - always making a joke, and always making the people around him laugh and smile.

Jon is survived by his wife Susan (Dreffs) Passinault, children Wesley (Jessie) Passinault and Kelly (Travis) Passinault; father Louis Passinault; sisters - Jeannine (Dick) Fromm, Pat Wittington; brothers - Tim Passinault, Tom Passinault, and Jim (Dianne) Passinault; brother-in-law - Victor (Rose) Dreffs; sister-in-law Linda (Gerald) Schwake; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved best friend, Lil Pennie, the dog who spent hours by his side.
