Joseph "Joe" E. Roberts

Joseph E. Roberts, Jr., age 61, of Grand Marais, died Wednesday evening, April 17, 2013 at his home under the loving care of his daughter and North Woods Home Hospice. Joe was born on October 6, 1951 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Joseph and Julia (Marinchek) Roberts. He enjoyed motorcycles, hunting, fishing, and camping. The thing Joe enjoyed the most was playing the guitar. He had played in a number of bands, but most recently could be heard jamming with friends at the open mic nights at the Lake Superior Brewing Co. at the Dunes Saloon in Grand Marais. Joe was also a talented cook; he had worked in many restaurants in Indiana and then most restaurants in Grand Marias. He was member of the First Lutheran Church of Grand Marais.
Joe is survived by his daughter Alisa Roberts of Fort Wayne, IN, his sister Janet Roberts of Cleveland, OH, and, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at the First Lutheran Church in Grand Marais from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. Pastor Jon Babbitt will conduct Joe's memorial service at 1:00 at the church.
