Shingleton
Joyce V. Jordan, age 68, of Shingleton, died Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at Munising Memorial Hospital. She was born May 16, 1939, in Lapeer, MI to the late Walter and Violet (Roseveare) Jones. Joyce was a graduate of Lapeer High School in 1957. She then married David C. Jordan on August 23, 1958. Joyce, David, and their daughter Jody lived in Traverse City, MI from 1969 to 1980 where Joyce worked as a checker at the Giant Supermarket. She enjoyed camping, snowmobiling, gardening, and riding her dirt bike. Joyce and David moved to Shingleton in 1980 because of their love for snowmobiling and camping. While in the U.P. she worked at Hub's Super Valu, sold life insurance, and most recently was employed by Kewadin Casino in Manistique and Christmas. She was a member of Good Sam Club and enjoyed going on their camping rallies. Joyce loved her family and friends, and was not afraid to work hard or play hard.
She is survived by her husband of over forty-nine years - David Jordan of Shingleton, MI; daughter - Jody (Eric Dziczek) Jordan of Flint, MI; brother - Richard (Joann Borrousch) Jones of Columbiaville, MI; sister-in-law - Jean Krug of Lincoln, CA; numerous very special nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents - Walter and Violet; nephew - Mark Jones; and sister-in-law - Merhl Huie.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 7, 2007 and from 10:00 a.m. until noon on Saturday at the Bowerman Funeral Home in Munising. Joyce's funeral service will be conducted by Pastor Debra Hubbard at noon on Saturday, September 8, 2007 at the Bowerman Funeral Home. Services will then continue on Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at the Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Lapeer, MI with a visitation from noon until 2:00 p.m. with funeral services conducted by Pastor Tim Butterfield at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at Stiles Cemetery.
