Joyce (Hartman) Weber

Joyce Weber (nee Hartman), age 74, of Barefoot Bay, FL and formerly of Munising, MI, died on Friday evening, February 18, 2022 at the Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital in Vero Beach, FL following a two-week illness. She was born in Waco, TX on January 14, 1948 to Harding and Sally (McCune) Hartman. Joyce graduated from Fair Park High School in Shreveport, LA in 1966 and attended college for two years. On December 9, 1967, Joyce married Fran Weber, and after Fran was discharged from the Air Force, he entered the Michigan State Police. They were stationed at the Rockford Post, started their family, and then transferred to the Munising Post in 1976. Joyce loved working with kids and served as an aide for the Munising schools for many years. She loved raising her daughters in Munising and instilled in them a strong faith in God, the importance of education, and a love of the outdoors. Joyce’s favorite place in the world was the beach, and she loved boating and waterskiing with the family, biking, baking, and traveling. Joyce loved her church, her friends, her family, and especially her grandchildren – they were her pride and joy.

She is survived by her daughter Erin Weber-Holloway and son-in-law Chris Holloway of Edgerton, WI; son-in-law Scott Kinney (Durae) of Lowell, MI; grandchildren Jacqueline and Jacob Holloway and Mia and Reese Kinney; her sister Janie Tulley (nee Hartman) of Bossier City, LA; brother-in-law Bob Weber, sisters-in-law Pat Ann Klarich (nee Weber) and Deb Neadow (nee Weber), and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Joyce was preceded in death by her father Harding Hartman, her stepfather Milford Myers, her mother Sally Myers, her brother Bill Myers, her husband of over forty-one years Fran Weber, and her daughter Shana Weber.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated by Father Michael Ocran, Friday, April 8, 2022 at 2 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Church in Munising. A reception and time to greet the family will follow the service in the LaMothe Hall of the church.

The family has suggested that in lieu of flowers, donations in Joyce's memory may be made to the Dr. Shana Weber Fund for Adrenal Cancer Research at the University of Michigan.
