Kane Lawrence Cady

April 7, 1980 — September 18, 2022

Trenary

Kane Lawrence Cady, age 42, of Trenary passed at his home of natural causes on Sunday, September 18, 2022 surrounded by his family.  Kane was born at Munising Memorial Hospital on April 7, 1980.  He was the youngest of three children to Greg and Doris (Anderson) Cady.  Kane grew up around fifteen first cousins and countless extended cousins that he loved and cherished dearly.

Kane graduated from Superior Central School in 1998 where soon after, he enlisted into the U.S. Army.  He spent three years in Fort Bragg, NC.  Kane was 82nd Airborne, 1st of the 504 Infantry Division.  In 2002 he began working for PLC, USA where he traveled the country building sawmills.  In his travels, Kane met the love of his life, Mimi Shue.  On June 11, 2004, they married and in December of the same year, their son, Hudsen Cady was born.

In August of 2005, Kane and his small family moved back to Trenary to be closer to his parents and cousins.  Upon moving back, he began working as a land surveyor with Mike Mileski and he rediscovered his love of property.  In September of 2007, Kane found the property of his dreams in Trenary and decided to build a home.  In January of 2016, the home that he and his family were living in while they built their dream home caught on fire.  That didn’t stop Kane.  He was determined to push through and build his family a home.  In October of 2016, he moved his family into their home where they still reside.

In 2008, Kane started an apprenticeship with Local 8 Iron Workers Union out of Milwaukee.  He enjoyed welding and the brotherhood of the Union.  At the time of his passing, he had worked his way up to Superintendent of the Ironworkers for CR Meyer.

Kane had a passion for family, friends, and life.  He loved hunting, fishing, jamming to his favorite tunes, and visiting with everyone.  Kane enjoyed taking trips with his parents, vacationing with his brother Shane, and visiting his sister Danelle.  In recent years, he enjoyed building a camp with his cousin Patrick Aho and rebuilding his old dirt bike.  Kane enjoyed many adventures with his friends Charlie Pelto and Lisa Johnson as well as fishing with his cousin Jake Aho.

Kane was a devoted, loving, and caring husband to his wife and an exceptional father to his son.  He was always willing to lend a hand and loved all his nieces and nephews with ferocity.  To be loved by Kane was to be truly loved.  The countless stories and endless moments of laughter will forever live in our hearts….until we meet again.

Kane is survived by his wife – Mimi Cady; their son – Hudsen Cady; his parents – Greg and Doris Cady; sister – Danelle (Brian) Paul; brother – Shane Cady; nephews – Cole (Samantha) Paul, Gage (Meghan) Paul, Ethan Woodruff, and Sawyer Tyner; nieces – Olivia Woodruff, Lillian Woodruff, Sophia Woodruff, Brelyn Spee, Gracie Spee, and Alana Spee; parents-in-law – Johnn (Bianca) Shue and Kim (Dean) Shue-McCann; and in-laws – Sabrina (Randall) Woodruff, Darby Shue, and Lorenzo (Brittny) Spee; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
