Munising
Keith Compton, age 55, of Munising, died Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Marquette General Hospital following a brief illness. He was born in Munising, Michigan to the late Theodore "Ted" and Lillian "Tiny" (Jerry) Compton. Keith enjoyed hunting, fishing, sports, cooking, and socializing with friends and family. He enjoyed serving the public and lending a helping hand to his neighbors, brushing the snow off their cars, or making a kettle of soup to pass around. Keith loved a good laugh and a good joke, and was always ready to make you smile.
He is survived by his two children - Natasha Compton of Los Angeles, CA and Keith "Paco" (Crissy) Compton, Jr. of Traverse City, MI; five grandchildren - Natalie, Jaden, Keaden, Kylee, and Kason; his loving companion - Sheila Klosowski of Munising; brothers - Dell (Jayne) of Marquette, Harley (Jean) of Racine, Jerry (Pam) of Bagley, Bob (Peggy) of Racine; sisters - Mary (Jeff) of Horicon, Sue of Munising; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins including a special friendship with his cousin Elaine. Keith was preceded in death by his parents, brother Paul, nephew Gary Compton, and cousin Billy Ives.
Services will be held on Friday, January 27, 2012 at the Bowerman Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Deacon Tom Moseley will conduct Keith's funeral service in the funeral home's chapel at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Munising.
