Keith D. Makinen, age 59, of Munising died, Monday, October 21, 2013 at Munising Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. He was born on April 9, 1954 to the late Oiva and Ellen (Ridell) Makinen. Keith enjoyed fur trapping in his younger years.
He is survived by his nephews and niece - Allen Makinen of Munising, Steve (Ruth Perry) Makinen of Forest Lake, and Kathy (Brad) Kolbus of Munising. He was preceded in death by his parents Oiva and Ellen, and brothers Floyde (Phyllis) Makinen and Bill Korhonen.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at the Bowerman Funeral Home. Pastor Paul Kelto will conduct Keith's Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Chatham.
