Keith Francis West, Sr

Mr. Keith Francis West, Sr. passed away May 25, 2010 at the age of 79. Mr. West, son of Russell F. and Lydia V. West was born in Lansing, Michigan on May 2, 1931. He attended Washington School in Munising and joined the U.S. Army upon graduation. Mr. West was a Korean War Veteran. Upon discharge from the Army, Mr. West worked for Burlington Mills, U.S. Gypsum and for Cox Transportation. Mr. West loved animals, enjoyed fishing and vehicle restoration. He was a member of the American Legion Post #131.
Mr. West is survived by his wife Ruth Rees-West; eight sons and daughters - Keith (Donna) West, Jr. of Sault Ste. Marie, MI, Ruth West of Wetmore, MI, Timothy West of Delavan, WI, Daniel West of Henderson, NV, Debra (Tom) Meeker of Delavan, WI, Paul West of Leland, IL, Kara (Steve) Raslik of Milwaukee, WI and Andrew West of Las Vegas, NV; thirteen grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Mr. West was preceded in death by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Russell West and siblings Clark West, Arnold West, Joyce Snyder and Edith Richardson.
There will be no public service. It is requested that donations be made in the name of Keith West, Sr. be made to the Alger County Animal Shelter in lieu of flowers.
