Larry E. Nyman, age 72, of Grand Marais and of Marquette, died early Thursday evening, January 26, 2012 at Marquette General following a three year illness of Lou Gehrig 's disease. Larry was born in Grand Marais on November 25, 1939 to Lawrence and Mildred (Kettering) Nyman and he graduated from Burt Township High School in 1957. Larry was a member of the Mennonite Church in Grand Marais and after Larry and Nina moved to Marquette in January of 2011, Jim Larson of The Church of Christ came to their home to pray with them. Larry loved Grand Marais and he loved to fish and hunt. If he could have, he would have lived in the woods.
