Rumely
Laura Lynn Fortin, age 32, of Moksey Road, Rumely, died in the arms of her mother of an unexpected heart attack on Saturday, October 6, 2007. She was born on January 3, 1975 in Marquette. Laura graduated from the Superior Central High School. She enjoyed her favorite items and toys that had holes in them, her musical caterpillar, watching cartoons, and sneaking sips of coffee from anyone's mug she could find. Laura loved her coffee! Laura and her mother and father enjoyed traveling all over the country. Their trips included Vegas, California, Disney World, Kentucky, Tennessee, Arizona, and fishing on Lake Mead. She brought a smile through her eyes to all that knew her and loved her.
She is survived by her parents John and Linda Fortin of Rumely and her biological father Peter and Phyllis Howard of Churchwells, Utah; one sister - Tammy (Michael) Nowland of Las Vegas; three brothers - John Fortin serving in the U.S. Army in Iraq, James (Cassie) Fortin of Halfway Location, and Michael Fortin of Kalamazoo, MI; grandmother - Rita Fortin of Marquette; one nephew - James Fortin, Jr. of Halfway Location; one niece - Mariah Fortin; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Laura was preceded in death her grandparents;- John Fortin, Sr., State Trooper John D. Ryan ,B.J. Mrotek, , and Mr. and Mrs. Peter Howard and great-grandparents - Mr. and Mrs. Frank C. Donckers Sr., Mr. & Mrs. Bill Fortin, and Mr. and Mrs. James Ryan.
A memorial service and fellowship gathering will be held from 12:00 noon until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 13, 2007 at St. Rita's Church Hall in Trenary. A prayer service will be conducted by Father Yacek Wytyklo at 1:00 p.m.
