Munising
Lawrence "Larry" A. Boucher, age 78, of Munising, died on Saturday morning, October 1, 2011 at the Tendercare Health Center in Munising. He was born on November 23, 1932 in Greenville, Maine to Alfred and Lurline (Trembley) Boucher. Larry's family moved to Munising when he was eight years old. He graduated from Sacred Heart School and then Wm. G. Mather High School in 1951. Larry joined the U.S. Navy and served during the Korean War. After returning home, he married Ruthann Wilson on July 6, 1957. They moved to Detroit where Larry worked for a Tool & Die company. In 1967, their family moved back to Munising and Larry went to work at Kimberly Clark. He served as the Union President for many years before retiring in 1993. Larry was a member of Sacred Heart Church, the Knights of Columbus, American Legion and a past member of the Moose. He enjoyed hunting, playing cards with friends, watching the Lions, and traveling to visit his family. He coached little and senior league baseball and loved watching his kids and grandkids play various sports. His greatest joy of all was spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of over fifty-four years - Ruthann (Wilson) Boucher of Munising; children - Daniel Boucher of Munising, Gary (Darcy) Boucher of Byron, MI, Karilynn (Joe) Pierce of North Charleston, SC, and Dawn (Mike) Hayes of Suffolk, VA; six grandchildren - Amberly, Shannon, Joey, Zachary, Megan and Christina; sisters - Mary Ann Bovan of Munising and Frances Mitchell of California; and numerous nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Paul and Clifford Boucher.
Services will be held at the Bowerman Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 4, 2011. There will be visiting time with family and friends from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Deacon Tom Moseley will conduct Larry's memorial service at 5:00 p.m.
