Limestone
Leonard R. Gager, age 56, of Limestone, died late Monday evening, January 28, 2019 at UPHS in Marquette. He was born on November 4, 1962 in Manistique to Roger and Virginia (Fitzpatrick) Gager. Leonard grew up in Germfask and attended school in Germfask and at Manistique High School. He worked in the woods and did small engine repair work. Leonard enjoyed the outdoors, bow hunting, and fishing. He especially loved brook trout fishing.
He is survived by his father Roger Gager of Limestone; four sisters – Shelly (Donald) Gillespie of Holt, MI, Debra (Daryl) Kalnbach of Lakefield, MI, Alicia (Glenn) Kalnbach all of Lakefield, MI, and Rebecca (Harold “Red”) Evans of Ontario, Canada; stepbrother – James Manolakis, Jr. of Munising; stepsister – Michele Hayward of Munising; and numerous nieces and nephews. Leonard was preceded in death by his mother Virginia Gager, brothers Alan and Steve Gager, and stepmother Iris Gager.
Services will be held at the Germfask Community Building (8093 Pine Street, Germfask, MI 49836) on Saturday, February 2, 2019. Visiting time with family and friends will be from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. Pastor J.D. Livermore will conduct Leonard’s memorial service at 1:00 p.m.
