Trenary
Lila Leona Pischel, age 75, of Paulsen Road, Trenary, died on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at her home. Lila was born on May 4, 1935 to William and Gertrude Savola of Trenary, Michigan. She married Vernon A. Pischel on December 12, 1953 and they had three children who survive her - Delores (James) Luczak of Trenary, Michigan, Valerie Franklin of Menominee, Michigan and Michael (Mellissa) Pischel of Perronville, Michigan. Also surviving are grandchildren - Adam and Andrew Eskelinen of Marquette, Amber (Patrick) Woodworth, Seth Franklin and Dewey (Amanda) Franklin all of Black River Falls, Wisconsin, Kyle (Kate Vandoren) Franklin of Menominee, Michigan, Lacy Franklin of Oconto Falls, Wisconsin, Darcy (Tyler) Phillips of Porterfield, Wisconsin and Marla, Nicole and Lisa Pischel of Perronville, Michigan; great-grandchildren - Avery and Marah Eskelinen, Ashley, Patrick and Walter Woodworth, Nico, Rico and Joseph Franklin, Max and Sylas Franklin, Neela, Cherry, and Kitealyn Phillips, Logan Franklin and two more due in the spring of 2011. She is survived by siblings - Walter (Betty) Savola, Eleanor (Jerry) Paterick, Nancy (Bob) Zelloe, Arline Shaw, Irma (Matt) Lesneski, LeRoy Savola, Arthur Savola, Sally (Patrick) Mullaly; companion Les Profitt; sisters-in-law - Lorraine Posanke and Marie Straight; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Her husband Vernon preceded her in death in May of 2000 as well as sisters Norma Viau and Lillian Trotter and companion Gary P. Steen.
Lila enjoyed local senior dances, fishing, feeding birds, watching the deer in her backyard, and socializing at her penny machines at the casino. A talented artist, she did many crafts in her spare time such as sewing, knitting, painting and wood burning. Lila always had a project that she had in progress. In the past years, she made quilts that she donated to local nursing homes. Lila was a lifetime member of the First Lutheran Church of Trenary.
A memorial service and celebration of Lila's life will be held at the First Lutheran Church in Trenary on Friday, February 25, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with L.L.M. Tim Mulvany officiating and a luncheon at the church will follow. There will be visiting time with friends and family from 1:00 p.m. until the service at 2:00 p.m
