Lillian V. Trotter, age 79, of Gregg Road, Trenary, died on Monday afternoon, January 12, 2009 at Marquette General Hospital. She was born on June 13, 1929 in Trenary to William and Gertrude (Lamitu) Savola. Lillian married Henry "Hank" Trotter in 1949 and he preceded her in death in 1986. She was a member of St. Rita's Church in Trenary. She is survived by her four children - John Trotter of Ishpeming, Sarah (Alan) Salminen of Chatham, Sam (Julie) Trotter of Kincheloe, and Nathan Trotter of Trenary; eight grandchildren - Andrew Trotter, Jonathan Trotter, Becky Salminen, Holly (Jason) Mattson, Luke Salminen, Shana Trotter, Megan Trotter, and Austin Trotter; two great-grandchildren - Alanah and Carter; three brothers, six sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, husband Henry, and one sister.
Graveside services will be conducted by Father Jacek Wytklo on Friday, May 8, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mathias Township Cemetery in Trenary. Following the service, there will be a luncheon and fellowship gathering at the First Lutheran Church in Trenary.
