Munising
Lois Beverly Anderson, age 77, of 300 W. City Park Drive, Munising, died on Thursday, August 14, 2008 at 10:50 a.m. at the Tendercare Health Center in Munising following a lengthy illness. She was born on April 20, 1931 in Ishpeming to Leo and Doris (LaFreniere) Racine. Lois grew up in Ishpeming and attended school there, and in 1950, she married Leonard "Swede" Anderson. They moved to Munising in 1952 and Swede preceded her in death on October 23, 1976. Lois worked as a beautician for many years and then at the Superior Shores Nursing Home in the laundry department for over ten years, retiring from there. She was very creative and enjoyed knitting, crafts, crocheting, and Artex. Lois also enjoyed playing Bridge and other card games, going to the casino, and bingo.
She is survived by her children - Denise (Dale) Anderson of Coulee City, WA, Barbe (Tom) Livermore of Milwaukee, Bruce Anderson of Munising, and Lori (Bill) Cobb of Munising; grandchildren - Brad (Lisa) Welko, Jenel (David) Iceland, Bradley Livermore, Brent Nyman, and Cassie Ann Cobb; great-grandchildren - Ben and Katie Welko. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, husband Swede, granddaughter Amanda Anderson, longtime companion William Patelczyk, son-in-law Danny Norman, brothers Byrl and Francis Racine, and sister Gladys Schwartz.
Services for Lois will be held on Sunday, August 17, 2008 at the Bowerman Funeral Home. Visiting time with family and friends will be from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. Deacon James Anderson will conduct Lois' memorial service in the funeral home's chapel at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Munising.
