Lois Curtis, age 84, of Munising went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, January 14, 2012. Her husband Robert preceded her in death in 1990. She is survived by her children, Sue Manahan of Manistique, and Robert (Michele) Curtis of Wetmore; four grandchildren, Rob Manahan and Valerie (Jacen) Geiger both of Colorado and Austin and Joshua Curtis both of Wetmore; three great-granddaughters Julia, Natalie, and Aubrey; sister, Audrey (Hugh) Brady of Manistique, brother Ken (Cyndi) Burgin of Manistique; and several nieces and nephews. Her parents were Forrest and Gladys (Hieber) Burgin, the founders of the Forest Glen Resort. Lois attended Faith Baptist Church in Munising. She was always busy helping someone, volunteering at City Hall during public elections, or playing cards at the Senior Center and Lake Shore Manor, where she lived.
Visitation will be on Friday, January 20, 2012 at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. Pastor Dave Chambers will conduct a memorial service beginning at 4:00 p.m., with a luncheon to follow.
