Lois M. Doucette, age 78, of AuTrain, died on Saturday morning, January 5, 2013 under the loving care of her family and Lake Superior Hospice at her daughter's home in Harvey. She was born in Munising the ninth out of ten children to Joseph and Lenora (LeClaire) Berube on November 9, 1934. Lois graduated from Sacred Heart School and then from Wm. G. Mather High School in 1952. She married Arnold "Duke" Doucette on May 1, 1954. They were married over fifty-eight years when he preceded her in death on May 20, 2012. Lois worked at People State Bank, First National, Mazzali Insurance Agency, and then she retired from Alger General Agency. During her retirement, Lois worked part time for the Pictured Rocks Cruises. She was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Church and then St. Therese in AuTrain. Lois sang in the choir at Sacred Heart for many years. She was active with the Booster Club and the Castle Ranger Drum and Bugle Corps where they made the best cookbook in town, "To Your Kitchen" as a fundraiser. Lois loved music and was the drum majorette in high school, and she was always supportive of her children's musical talents.

Lois is survived by her five children - Carleen (Dale) Hancock of Munising, Michael Doucette of Jackson, MI, Judy (Michael) Crabtree of Byron Center, MI, Wendy (Kevin) Burke of Munising, and Sandy (Tom) Sheltrow of Harvey; grandchildren - Justin, Erin, Tyler, Meaghan, Julia, Samantha, and Alyssa; five great-grandchildren; sister - Pat (James) Bovan of Flushing, MI; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Duke, brothers and sisters - Jack, Ovid, Joseph, Alice, Genevieve, Marie, Blanche, and Frances.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Munising. Interment will be at Serenity Pines Cemetery in AuTrain.
