Lois June Pridemore

            Lois J. Pridemore, age 89, of Gwinn, and formerly of Detroit, died Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at UP Health Systems Marquette following a period of declining health.  She was born on September 2, 1934 in Adams County, Ohio to the late Clarence and Helen (Lamm) Shiveley.  Lois’ family moved to Detroit, Michigan where she went to school and graduated from Redford High School in 1952.  She married Randall “Randy” Pridemore on September 13, 1952 and together they raised their four children.  Lois started working at Cody High School in 1980 as a secretary in the counseling office until she retired in the late 1990’s.  She enjoyed crocheting, reading Christian romance novels and Helen Steiner Rice poetry, watching Judge Judy, and listening to Bill Gaither music.  Lois loved spoiling her grandchildren.  She and Randall loved to travel and took multiple trips to West Virginia and Tennessee taking in all the sights and sounds of the Smokey Mountains.  Lois also enjoyed her Tuesday night game night with many close long-time friends.   She was a member of the Faith Community Church in Livonia. Lois was a Godly woman who loved the Lord and passed that beautiful faith onto her children. 

            She is survived by her children – Jeff (Sarah) Pridemore of Gwinn, MI, Craig (Evelyn) Pridemore of Redford, MI, and Renee (Robert) Hunter of Gwinn; son-in-law – Steven Patterson of Westland, MI; grandchildren – Brook, James, Randall, Jeffrey (Nina), Mark (Aria) and Emellie; great-grandchildren – Maura and Leanne; numerous beloved nieces and nephews; and dear friend – Betty Kruski.  Lois was preceded in death by her husband – Randall Pridemore; daughter – Leeann Patterson; parents – Clarence and Helen; and brothers – James B. (Magaret) Shiveley and J. Keith Shievely.

            A memorial service will take place on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Community Wesleyan Church, located at 14560 Merriman Rd, Livonia, MI 48154. A dinner and visiting will take place afterward.
