Loren Samuel Barker
December 4, 1935 – November 10, 2019
Loren was born to Lester O. Barker and Daisy Stanton Barker. Loren passed away November 10, 2019 at Medilodge in Munising, Michigan. He was born in Kokomo, Indiana. Loren moved to Chatham, Michigan when he retired. He worked at Cuneo in Kokomo, Indiana for 25 years as a journeyman bookbinder, he then worked at Marion Fisherbody General Motors ten years as a journeyman millwright. Loren loved the outdoors and tinkering around his garage. He married Carolyn Sue Mooney on July 24, 1954 and together raised their three children. He then married Delpha Alice Tolle McQuinn on June 11, 1990. Alice preceded him in death on May 19, 2017.
Loren is survived by a son and daughter-in-law – Richard and Rhonda Barker; a daughter and son-in-law – Tammy and Ernie Herin; stepson – Michael McQuinn; grandchildren – Crystal Baker, Holly Murray, and Joshua (Felicia) Barker; step granddaughter – Traci McQuinn; great-grandchildren – McKenna Knight, Kennedy Murray, and Traci McQuinn; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Loren was preceded in death by his parents, a son Kent Barker, wife Delpha Alice, and siblings – Barbara Darland, Sara Sharp, and Michael Barker; half-siblings – Lester Barker, Joseph Barker, Raymond Barker, and Mae Jeruard, and another infant sister who was Mae’s twin.
No public services were held and Loren and Delpha were buried at the Russiaville Cemetery in Russiaville, Indiana.
