Lori Hayes, age 51, of Marquette and formerly of Munising, died unexpectedly of a brain aneurysm at her home in Marquette on Wednesday, February 3, 2010. Daughter of Mike and Jean Hayes and Marie St. Amour, Lori was a member of the Wm. G. Mather Class of 1976. She worked as a secretary for Michigan Tech, the City of Munising, and the Munising School Superintendent's office. Lori was a gifted musician and enjoyed singing and playing the guitar and piano.
She is survived by her sons - Edward Hayes and Christopher Hayes both of Cedar Park, TX; grandson - Stephen Michael Hayes; parents - Marie St. Amour and Mike and Jean Hayes all of Munising; siblings - Kathi (Al) Quattrin of Munising, Mike Hayes of Shanghai, China, Pat (Kelly) Hayes of Chippewa Falls, WI, Sean (Jamie) Hayes of Munising, John (Lisa) Cromell of Munising, and Wayne (Candy) Cromell of Grand Junction, CO; aunts and uncles - Debbie, Don, and Richard (Kay) St. Amour; nieces and nephews - Nathan Quattrin, Daniel, Alan, Megan, Emily, Jessica, Michael, Ryan, Ben, Sean, Cody, Abbie, Dylan, Evan, Eric, Olivia, and Brooklyn; cousins - Lenny (Amy), Janette, and Cindy St. Amour and Michelle (Sean) Smith; and her dog - Buddy. Lori was preceded in death by her grandparents Agnes and Leonard St. Amour and Mildred and John Hayes and uncles David St. Amour and Pat Hayes.
Services will be held at the Bowerman Funeral Home in Munising on Monday, February 8, 2010. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Father Frank Lenz will conduct Lori's funeral service in the funeral home's chapel at 7:00 p.m. Memorials in memory of Lori may be directed to the Women's Center in Marquette.
