Lorraine Hase, age 79, of Brown's Addition in Munising, died Monday, April 26, 2010 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Munising on December 14, 1931 to Paul and Heneriatta (Rollin) Lukowski. She married Donald John Hase, Sr. on December 28, 1950 and together they raised eight children. Lorraine loved watching the Packers, having the children and grandchildren around, bird watching, dancing at the Knotty Club, riding in the woods, going to the casino, and visiting with people. She was an excellent cook and made the best dressing and baked beans. Lorraine also enjoyed arbutus, Christmas cacti, and her dog, Tinker.
She is survived seven children - Candy Lorraine Candace Duer of Marquette, Nancy Rzanca of Munising, JoJo (Ken) Rzanca of Munising, Pauly Hase of Munising, Lisa Hebert of Limestone, Bill (Mary) Hase of Christmas, and Donna Hase of Munising; 15 grandchildren - Bradley Hase, Christine Ellis, Kelly (Kurk) Lawrey, Donald Hase, Maria (Jason) Stempien, Leanna (Pete) Stockoski, Barbie Rzanca, Heidi Rzanca, Missy Osman, Jennifer (Nathan) Mcglone, Deanna Hase, Nicholas Hase, Nicole Hase, Sheena (Chip) Malone, and Billy Hase; 22 great-grandchildren - Ashley, Dustin, Dylan, Korbin, Shaelin, Shyanne, Kyle, Jessica, Shawna, Natasha, Brittany, Destiny, Sierra, Bryce, Tye, Tristen, Jon, Katelyn, Jace, Jaxon, Damion, and Keelan; siblings - Jim Lukowski, Paul Lukowski, Della (Tom) Borlace, Georgia Peterson, Susan Campbell, Nancy Lukowski, Marguetta Giles; and numerous nieces and nephews. Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband Donald, Sr. in 1975, son Donald John Hase, Jr., parents Paul and Heneriatta, son-in-law Andrew Rzanca, and siblings David and Robert Lukowski, Josephine Prusi, and Phyliss Meyers.
Services will be held on Thursday, April 29, 2010. Visitation will be at the Bowerman Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Father Chris Gardiner will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Church at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Munising.
