Louisa Spurr, age 83, of 300 W. City Park Drive, Munising and formerly of Calumet, died at the Tendercare Health Center in Munising on Thursday, March 13, 2008 following a lengthy illness. She was born in Casa Jo, Italy on January 1, 1925 to Giuseppe and Rose Yevoli. Louisa married Robert Spurr in 1946 and came to the U.S. She raised three children and was a homemaker in Calumet. Louisa was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Calumet and she enjoyed cooking.
She is survived by her children: Roberta Voelker of Oswego, Illinois, Robert (Carol) Spurr of Waterloo, Indiana, and Thomas Spurr of Dollar Bay, Michigan; grandchildren - Robert, Gary Jr., and Jason Voelker, Michael Spurr, and Joshua Spurr; great-grandchildren - Justin, Travis, Connor, Peyton, Emili, and Luke Voelker, and Sophia and Noah Spurr; sisters - Yolanda Smith and Maria Haslem both of California; and a brother Giuseppe Yevoli of Italy. Louisa was preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law Gary Voelker, sister Mafilda Yevoli, and a brother Papino Yevoli.
