Marc "Lobo" Johnson

Marc "Lobo" Johnson, age 58, of Eben Junction died at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Marquette General Hospital following a seventeen month illness. He was born on December 16, 1954 in Marquette to Harold and Bertha (Kamppinen) Johnson. Marc graduated from Eben High School in 1973. He married Margie Edmondson and they had two daughters. Lobo worked at the White Pine and CCI Iron Ore mines before working construction. He did carpentry work on Isle Royale and worked for S.J.S Construction and Walther Construction. Lobo bowled in league for many years on the New Moon's team. He played fast pitch softball in the Chatham league and he enjoyed watching all sports, especially the Tigers and Packers. Marc was a huge supporter of the Superior Central Cougars and he faithfully cheered on all of their events.

He is survived by his daughters - Sara (Don) Miller and Sherry Johnson all of Marquette; grandchildren - Tyler, Easton, Samantha, and Aleya; his mother - Bertha Nix of Chatham; brother - Wayne (Pam) Johnson of Eben; sister - Beth (Cary) Chartier of Chatham; nieces and nephews - Wayne, Heidi, Heather, Jacob, Jarod, Jesse, Justin, and Jordan; aunt - Lois Maki; and numerous cousins. Marc was preceded in death by his father Harold Johnson, brother Bruce Johnson, and step-father Warren Nix.

Visitation will be held at the Bowerman Funeral Home on Saturday evening from 5:00 until 8:00 and also at the church on Sunday from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. Marc's funeral service will be held at the Chatham Apostolic Lutheran Church on Sunday, January 27, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Chatham in the spring. Lobo will be escorted by Gary and Bruce Kallio, Allen Seppanen, Jesse Chartier, Tyler Smith, and Wayne Johnson.
