Marcus "Mark" Leon Kroupa

 Marcus “Mark” Leon Kroupa, age 65, of AuTrain died unexpectedly and peacefully at his home, Sunday, June 23, 2024. He was born in Munising on August 29, 1958 to the late Darwin and Marjorie (Bonevelle) Kroupa. Mark, a lifelong AuTrain resident, went to elementary school in Deerton, graduated from Sacred Heart School, and then graduated from Wm. G. Mather High School in 1976. Mark spent his career working in the woods. He worked with his dad, brother, and several nephews. Later, he and his brother Johnny owned and operated Kroupa Logging. After his retirement from the woods, Mark painted around the area and country with Superior Painters and Painting. He was a student of WWII and loved reading about the history of the War. Mark loved the outdoors. He enjoyed deer hunting, rabbit hunting with his beagles, fishing - especially for brook trout, blueberry picking, and vegetable gardening. Mark enjoyed the flora and the fauna in the area and listening to The Beatles. 

 He is survived by his siblings - Debbie Johnson, Rebecca Kroupa, Laura Kroupa, Darla Kroupa, Michelle (Todd) Kroupa-Kulik, John (Jill) Kroupa, and Jim (Pam) Lockwood; nieces and nephews - Michael (Heather), (Jamie), Daniel (Holly), Rebecca, Amy, Jamie, Melinda (Mike), Melissa (Tom), Maria (Trevor), Angela, Jesse, Sabrina (Cody), Heidi (Ty), Ashley (Josh), Mikey, Jimmy, Andrea (Andy), Nicole (Casandra), Benjamen (Emma), Joshua, Isabelle Rose, Wyatt, Christopher, Aundraya, Jerry, Scott (Mya), Johnny Ray (Cassie), Hannah (Shane), Heather (Bill), Tommy, and Marcus (Tiffany); an abundance of great and great-great nieces and nephews; and cousins.

 Mark was preceded in death by his parents - Darwin and Margie; sister - Brenda Kroupa; brothers-in-law - Robert Johnson, Tom Hyde, and Thomas Quarfoot; nephews - Jason Darwin Hyde and Barry Johnson; niece – Lilly Kulik; grandparents – Roy and Della Bonevelle and Harry and Isabelle Kroupa; and multiple beagles all named Shelby.

 Services will be at the Bowerman Funeral Home on Friday, June 28, 2024. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. and Father Michael Ocran will conduct Mark’s funeral at 3:00 p.m. Interment will take place at the Serenity Pines Cemetery in AuTrain at a later date.
