Munising
Marilyn Alice Floria (nee Arman), age 94, of Munising, died Friday, April 4, 2025 at Medilodge of Munising. She was born on May 23, 1930 in Pierre, South Dakota to the late Beatrice (Ballou) and Guy Arman. Marilyn moved to Petoskey as an infant, then to Munising at five years old. Even being bounced from school to school she maintained all A’s which she was very proud of, graduating from Wm. G. Mather in 1951. Marilyn met “Stoney” in high school, and they were married in 1960 and together they raised their daughters Kristine and Marsha. In 1985, Marilyn married Cecil Floria. Marilyn worked at Kimberly-Clark, Mather High School, and then Taylor’s Cleaners.
Marilyn had a ferocious love of family. She loved birthday parties, Christmas, and spending time with her grandkids. Marilyn was an integral part of raising her grandson Chad. She also loved her Methodist Church family where she was very active in the Guild, choir, and held many offices. She always talked of her love of Mary Nebel playing the piano. Marilyn didn’t want for material things, family and their adventures were the best. She loved going fast in the car, on the kids’ four-wheelers, and snowmobiles.
Marilyn is survived by her daughters – Kris (Greg) Lindquist and Marsha Morrison; grandchildren – Chad (Jennifer) Morrison, Tiffany (Isaiah) Holloway, and Shannon (Peter) Fentz; great grandchildren – Allysia (Josh), Blaise, Drake, Ember, Isabelle, Ian, Rona, and Keeley; nieces and nephews – Jo Arman, Michele Martin, Kathy Haas, Brenda Mayotte, Stephanie Arman, and Scott Arman; and honorary daughter – Pamela (Krajewski) Milcarek. She was preceded in death by her parents – Guy and Beatrice; siblings – Ethel, Roland, Leland, Louis, and Norman; and husband – Cecil Floria; son-in-law – Tommy Morrison.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at the United Methodist Church in Munising from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. Marilyn’s memorial service will be conducted by Rev. Sandra Kolder at 1:00 p.m. Fellowship time will follow downstairs at the church. Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery at a later date.
