Marilyn Hoemke, age 69, of Munising, died Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at the Tendercare Health Center in Munising. She was born in Detroit, Michigan, on March 20, 1942 to the late Lawrence and Alice (Wilbur) Hebert. Marilyn was a member of the Wm. G. Mather Class of 1960, and then went on to school to become a beautician. Marilyn worked for many years as a beautician in Lower Michigan and for a short time back in the U.P. She was a talented crocheter and jewelry maker, and she enjoyed pinochle and cribbage. Marilyn was a happy go lucky person who was fun to be around and would give anything to someone in need.
She is survived by her two sons - Patrick Hoemke of Oscoda, MI and Steven (Kim) Hoemke of Warren, MI; grandson - Dillon Hoemke; sister - Nancy Cook of Munising; sister-in-law - Olga "Babe" Hebert; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends who she enjoyed visiting with. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents Lawrence and Alice; an infant son; siblings - Wanda Drumsta, Patricia Charland, Larry Hebert, Jr., Alice Hanson, Patrick Hebert, Ernalee Dawson, and infant sister Jean Marie Hebert.
A memorial luncheon will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the home of Tammy and Tom Cook, N7812 Carmody Road.
