Marjorie E. Dawson, age 83, of Chatham, died Monday, May 12, 2008, at the Superior Health Haven in Munising. She was born on September 15, 1924 in Ray Center, Michigan to the late Ernest and Mable (Philbrick) Read. Marge married Carl R. Dawson on March 7, 1942 and together they raised their four children. In 1968 they moved to the Upper Peninsula. Marge was a member of the United Methodist Church of Trenary. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was a loving mother and grandmother.
Marge is survived by her son - Dow (Peggy) Dawson of Rapid River; daughters - Theresa (Norm) Hancock of Wetmore, and Beth (David) Spencer of Michigan City, IN; six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her Husband Carl R. Dawson in March of 2000 and son Ross R. "Dick" Dawson in February of 2001.
Visitation will be on Saturday, May 17, 2008 at the Bowerman Funeral Home in Munising, from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. with a service beginning at 3:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Chatham.
