Marvin Francis Aho, age 82, of Trenary, Michigan, passed away on Friday morning, June 5, 2015 at his home in Trenary with family members at his side. Marvin was born in Trenary on January 23, 1933, to the late John and Anna (Kalliola) Aho. He graduated from Trenary High School in 1951.
Marvin was employed as a deck hand and later as a Wheelsman on the ore boats, sailing the Great Lakes for ten years. He later worked for the Nelson Brothers Logging Company of Rock, Michigan. He worked for them as a professional wood cutter for twenty years. He also worked on the family farm. Marvin enjoyed fly fishing and hunting. He loved all of his family and enjoyed the company of his many nieces and nephews and all of their children, who loved him very much.
He is survived by his sister Arlene (Jack) Finlan of Green Bay, Wisconsin, brother Elmer (Rita) Aho of Gwinn, Michigan, sister-in-law Gloria Aho of Trenary, and numerous nieces and nephews. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents Anna and John Aho, sisters Signe (Les) Cady and Vivian (Forest) Dunn, brothers William (Kate) Aho, Arvid Aho, Carlo (Joy) Aho, and Donald Aho, and special friend June Niemi.
Marvin's services will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at the United Methodist Church in Trenary. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Rev. Sandra Kolder will conduct his funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will be at the Mathias Township Cemetery in Trenary, Michgian
