Munising
Mary A. Carr, age 90, of Munising, died Tuesday evening, March 4, 2014 at the Superior Health Haven in Munising. She was born in Traunik, Michigan on May 7, 1923 to the late Louis and Frances (Laurich) Carr, Sr. Mary was a graduate for Rock River Township High School in 1942. She worked for over twenty-nine years at the Munising Mill, retiring from Kimberly Clark in 1986 as the Product Development Secretary. Mary enjoyed bowling, playing cards, working in her flower garden, and traveling. Her travels took her across the United States and Europe, visiting with family in Yugoslavia. Mary was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Church, and was active in St. Christopher's Circle and National Catholic Society of Foresters. She was always on the go, enjoying her social events will all of her friends.
Mary is survived by her sister Sylvia Bartol of Munising, sisters-in-law Ruth and Helen Carr both of Munising, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents - Louis and Frances; brothers - John, Frank (Irma), Ludwig, and Louis (Vera) Carr; and sisters - Antonia Carr, Josephine (Warren "Toad") Patterson, and Antonija Carr.
A graveside service will be held at the Mathias Township Cemetery in Trenary on Friday, May 16, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. with Father Chris Gardiner officiating. Memorials in Mary's name may be made to Sacred Heart Church - Parish Improvement Fund.
