Michael served as president of the school board and was involved with the consolidation of the Eben and Trenary schools.

Mike was a devoted and faithful member at St. Rita Church in Trenary. He served as lector, choir member, Eucharistic minister, and Mike was very involved with St. Vincent de Paul. He visited the sick and homebound, taught Bible study classes, and he and Anna were involved with the marriage preparation classes. In 2012, the Diocese of Marquette gave Michael the Legacy of Faith Catholic Service award for his lifetime of dedication and service to the church.

Michael was a kind, loving, and generous man who gave 100% in all that he did. He lived his life to serve others and Mike adored his wife, children, and grandchildren.
